Craft & Liability Cover

This covers damage to the craft and includes public liability. This is the most popular cover and is suitable for most boaters.

Craft Cover Only

This covers damage to your craft only and is suitable for someone who is keeping their boat permanently ashore or refurbishing the boat ashore.

Third Party Liability Cover Only

This cover gives liability only cover and excludes any damage to the craft. This is suitable for very small crafts and for someone who needs the liability cover in order to launch their craft.

What am I covered for on the RIB insurance policy?

All our cover can be tailored to suit your needs, depending on the type of craft you have and what you will be using it for. As well as all your standard perils we also include accidental damage to protect you from bumps and scrapes and public liability

What cover levels do you offer on the RIB insurance policy?

We have a range of cover levels available including Third party cover, craft damage only and comprehensive cover.

Do I need RIB insurance?

Although boat insurance is not a legal requirement in the UK, evidence of third-party insurance is compulsory at most marinas, harbours and in recognised mooring / launching areas.

What cruising ranges do you cover?

Can my RIB insurance policy be in joint names?

Yes, anyone who has a financial interest in the RIB can be named on the policy.

Do I have to pay for my dinghy insurance all in one go?

No, we offer flexible payment terms on our dinghy insurance policies. You can opt to pay with 12 monthly payments, and there is only a small charge to do so. Ask about our payment terms when you call us for a quote on 01604 946 781.

Are there any types of RIB’s you don’t cover on your insurance policies?

Do I need a survey to get insurance on my RIB?

Our survey requirements vary dependent on boat type. If you would like to check if we would need a survey for your RIB, speak to one of our advisors who would be happy to let you know.

Can I get cover for my boating equipment as well as my motor cruiser??

Our policies are tailor made to your requirements, therefore if you have any equipment you would like covered, this can be added onto your cover for you.

Do you offer any benefits if I belong to a club or association??

Do you offer any benefits if I keep my craft in a marina?

Craft kept ashore or afloat at a permanent marina will get marina benefits atomically included within their policy cover.

I would like to pay for my RIB insurance by card, is there a charge?

No, we don’t charge you extra to use your cards to pay for your RIB insurance policy. We accept most major credit and debit cards and we don’t charge you extra to use either.

Do you accept payment by cheque for my RIB insurance policy?

Yes we do. Many of our clients still prefer to pay by cheque. Please simply complete your cheque for the correct amount, making it payable to Assist Insurance Services. Please write your Assist Insurance Services client reference number on the back of the cheque (which can be found on the documentation we sent to you) and post it to:
